President's Report
Have you heard the news yet!! Pastor Chuck and Sherry have moved into their home. Now he is going to find out what a "real" commute is; it's not just a stroll next door. Congratulations to them on their move; from what they have told me it has been quite the experience. This brings to the forefront the parsonage property. For those of you who may not know, the congregation has voted to sell the parsonage property at a previous congregational voters meeting. 1 have been approached on more than one occasion since then, regarding concerns with this selling property, so much so, that I believe that this is an issue that must be revisited by the congregation as a whole. Our next meeting will be on March 9th, please make every effort to attend this meeting, however, if you know in advance that you will be unable to attend this very essential meeting, please contact me with any questions, concerns or comments you may have; my email address is: pindell@atlanticbb.net, phone number at home: 410-643-4338 or my home address: 724 Davol Road, Stevensville, MD 21666. We will be having a parsonage committee meeting prior to the congregational meeting; the date and time are still TBD, and will be posted in the hall. Regardless of what is to come of the parsonage at the next congregational meeting, there needs to be some
repairs and painting done. If you or someone you know can do drywall repair please let myself or Bob Gosselin know; this would be one of the first things that need to happen in any case, whether the congregation decides to sell or keep the property.
We do have committee chairpersons for our Evangelism committee - Jay Ballentine and for our Fellowship Committee -- Bob Bell. Thank you for accepting these volunteer positions and taking a leadership role. If you would like to be a part of either committee, or both, please contact Jay, Bob, Pastor Chuck or anyone on the council, we can use your help. The Fellowship Committee will be having a Fish Fry on March 14th. We will need all your help with this, preparing the food, taking orders, etc. If you are able to help out, please contact Bob Bell or Pastor Chuck, especially if you own a fryer.
We have a church cleanup day scheduled for March 15th starting at 8:00 am; Donuts and lunch are to be provided by Thrivent. It was also brought up at the recent council meeting that our sign is in need of repair and/or replacement. If you have any ideas for a new sign or perhaps repainting of the existing sign, please let the council know. Please check the calendar for events scheduled, as this is a busy month for us here at Galilee; Wednesdays we have the soup and sandwich suppers and the Easter Service will be on Sunday, March 23rd, with an Easter Breakfast to follow. Don't forget to sign-up for greeters, ushers, counters, and snack providers.
God Bless and have a wonderful Easter, John
