Newsletter Editor's Notes

NOTES OF INTEREST

We are still waiting for address' and pictures of our service men to put on the Bulletin Board.   Please give them to Jackie or Pastor.

Our Sunday School is now in session but attendance is low. Parents: please get your kids here on Sundays.

We would like each family to submit a favorite recipe, so that one per month can be placed in the newsletter.  If you have a funny article or cartoon, please give that to us also. Here's this month's recipe:

Sauerkraut Salad  --  1 large can Kraut - 1 cup each of peppers, celery and onion, chopped - 1 small jar pimentos - 1/4 cup sugar - 1 tsp salt - 1/2 cup WHITE vinegar - 1/2 cup salad oil - 1/4 cup cold water.

Drain kraut and wash well in cold water and drain in colander.  Squeeze out water with hands and add to chopped items.  Mix all ingredients and refrigerate for at least 3 days or up to a month.  Can use less oil if desired.

President's Report

By the time you read this, our Block Party will have been completed. A lot of hard work has gone into this event so I'm confident that Galilee has gained a measure of recognition in the surrounding communities. Hopefully, this recognition will translate into good things for us. Many thanks to all of those who participated, and especially to Jackie, who conceived of and spearheaded the event.

Also, thanks to those who participated in the Parsonage Work Day which took place on Saturday. This brings us closer to completing the sale of the parsonage and helps us to get the optimum price for the sale. We owe Bob Gosselin a vote of thanks for his efforts in obtaining minimum estimates for the work it was necessary to hire contractors to complete.

Our Sunday School is really hurting for attendance. We have a great program planned so let's make every effort to get the kids coming. Remember: Our kids are our future!!

I know that I'm nagging but, for the sake of the budget, we must all try to fill all 52 of our contribution envelopes with our pledges. Please make up the weeks you miss. And, it would certainly be helpful to increase our membership (one of the objectives of the Block Party). Please help us work on this.

Many thanks to all of you for your participation in the various events which keep Galilee going.

Jim
